Info page The one and only UK tap dance festival is organised by Associated Tap Dancers and has been running annually since 1995. In 2009 it took place at Seacroft Holiday Village, Hemsby, Norfolk NR29 4HR from May 29th to June 1st. Instructors: Lee Farrow - Back by popular demand, Lee works as a freelance tap instructor on the South Coast, teaching both ISTD exam work and classes in his own tap style. His Dancers Days Out workshops are always heavily booked and his fan club gets bigger each year! Maurice Kachuk - We are pleased welcome Maurice back to our Festival. He is well-known for his own weekend events, his thriving dance school in Bedfordshire and his popular song and dance act. He is taking a break from his busy touring, teaching and examining schedule to join us once again. Jamie Read - Jamie has been teaching tap for over 10 years and has an exciting style that incorporates American Tap, Spanish and Irish influences. He runs the Read Dance and Theatre Company in Berkshire and has proved a hit at our Dancers Days Out, so we are happy to invite him to our Festival for the first time. Simon Selmon - UK and American Dance champion and choreographer Simon has performed on stage, film, video and television. He founded and continues to run the London Swing Dance Society, the UK’s foremost swing dance club. His lively classes in a variety of styles provide an alternative to tap and he has been a stalwart of our Festival since it began. Sue Berry and Di Cook led workshops too, so there was plenty of choice! Theme party on Friday evening, dance workshops (mainly tap, plus some others to sample) from 9am to 5.30pm Saturday and Sunday. Chance to perform at the Saturday evening ‘Showcase’, and on Sunday evening watch our instructors in a fabulous informal performance. |
